Sony CBK-UPG01

The CBK-UPG01 Metadata Option Key is a necessary hardware component for your PMW-500 camera if you want to unlock its wireless proxy transmission capability and the import of planning metadata. You also need the CBK-WA01//C Wi-Fi Adapter hardware.

To realize Sony's innovative XMPilot metadata workflow, the PMW-500 is designed to support planning metadata. Before shooting starts, users can import the metadata to be used. This type of metadata is called planning metadata. It diminishes the time and effort of inputting metadata at a location, thus achieving a smooth interface with post-production and archiving. With a CBK-WA01//C Wi-Fi Adapter (sold separately) and by installing this CBK-UPG01 hardware key on the camcorder's circuit board, users can achieve a wireless workflow using mobile devices.

Note! This requires the CBK-WA01//C Wi-Fi Adapter dongle to unlock the PMW-500's Wi-Fi capability. This capability will also require an upgrade to XDCAM Browser software (version 3.0).
