MPEG TS Adaptor for PDW-700
The HDCA-702 MPEG TS Adaptor is a unique new product which enhance a workflow flexibility with various interfaces in an ultra-compact design. It provides real-time encoding of HD-SDI input signals into an MPEG TS for output via a DVB-ASI connector. One of this adaptor's applications is field news gathering, using microwave and satellite transmission. The HDCA-702 encodes camcorder output signals to MPEG TS and outputs this stream via its DVB-ASI connector at the same time the camcorder is recording. The adaptor also supports output of HDV compatible MPEG streams from i.LINK connector to use with HDV-compatible HDD units and nonlinear editing systems.
The HDCA-702 is an add-on for Sony XDCAM cameras, which allows for transmission over DVB-ASI. The unit attaches to the back of the camera and encodes video to MPEG-2. Output can be accomplished through either 6-Pin i.LINK (FireWire) or DVB-ASI (BNC). The HDCA-702 is ideal for direct transmission of news and sports.

• The HDCA-702 may be docked to the PDW-700 and PDW-F800 without cables through the use of the camcorder's 50-pin interface. Other Sony camcorders may be connected via the HD-SDI input
• HD-SDI input may be used to connect other non-Sony devices to the HDCA-702
• Input will autoswitch if a 1080i or 720p signal is received
• The transport stream bitrate can be independently set to enable the deck to output a lower data rate transport stream over DVB-ASI while recording the highest quality video on disc or SxS card
• Outputs a 4:2:0 MP@HL MPEG-2 stream at video data rates starting from 15 - 43.25 Mbps
• In 1080i mode, a 1440x1080 resolution stream will be output when the video bitrate is set to less than 35 Mbps. At video bitrates 35 Mbps or above, a 1920x1080 resolution may be selected
• Program/Service number, Video, Audio, and PMT PIDs can be configured for use in multiprogram transport stream applications
• MPEG transport stream may be output via the HDCA-702 DVB-ASI (BNC) interface or as a 25 Mbps CBR HDV stream over the 6-pin i.LINK interface
